Spring break and summertime are gonna be here before we know it. And if you are a new wig wearer, that might make you a little bit nervous. Warmer weather coming, we're gonna be doing more water activities like boating, swimming, water parks, etcetera. So today I'm gonna show you how to properly secure your wig for all of those activities, as well as put it up in a ponytail or a clip so that you don't have to worry anything about it. So we're gonna start with the most important thing, which is gonna be the wig grip that you choose. The first things first, we're gonna secure our hair into a low, tight bun. Now we're gonna put on my absolute favorite wig grip. This is from the Dream Lovers brand. I'm gonna tag it right here in the TikTok shop so you can check it out if you want. But it has all of this velvet right here that is going to help keep your wig on so, so securely. Always wanna make sure that you're putting it on the right way, because technically, this is reversible. But you do wanna make sure that you always have your label showing when you're putting on the wig grip. So I'm gonna do that. I'm just gonna put it on, and we're gonna secure it in the back underneath our bun. Now I'm gonna pull it to where I want it to be, and look at all of that Velvet space. Okay, I just grabbed the wig that was closest to me. This is gonna be a synthetic wig. So I'm gonna put this on, make sure that it's in the right spot. And then you can see right there I'm pulling on the wig and it is not budging. I'm just gonna brush through this and then we will get to how we're gonna put it up in a ponytail or a clip. Okay, I just grabbed the closest thing to me, which was this scrunchie. But this is not the kind you wanna use. You wanna use like, those regular, like black, just plain, nothing special type of ponytail holders. Gonna use this today just for a demonstration. So I always like to do a low ponytail whenever I have a wig on. Now, that's personal preference, but I do like to make sure that I don't have anything showing around the perimeter of my head. So I'm just gonna gather up the hair and we're gonna put it in a low ponytail. And by low, I mean, like, right about here. It doesn't have to be on your neck, so we're gonna secure it about there. And when you're securing it, don't worry about the perimeter quite yet. We're going to fix that once we have the ponytail where we want it. Okay, so the ponytail is secured, and you can see that I have some lifting right here. But that's okay, cause we're gonna fix It. So you just wanna make sure that you pull your wig down to where you want it to. Most important part is to make sure that your wig cap is covered as well as your hairline. Now, if you do have your own hair, you can pull some hair out down around the nape of your neck to make it look a little bit more natural. We're just gonna grab the hair and pull on it, for we don't have anything exposed around the perimeter. Now, I can't see because I'm not looking in a mirror, but there shouldn't be anything exposed around the back of the hairline. Okay, so now we're gonna move around to the front. I would wear it like this if I wanted to. Now, I do have some of my own hair showing right here. So to help make that a little bit more natural, I'm just gonna grab a comb and pull out a little bit of my own hair on the sides. Same thing over here. I could leave it like this, but I do like to have a little bit of face framing pieces. So I'm gonna pull out some bang area. I'm gonna make sure that the perimeter is covered around my ears. And there you go. Okay, now let's do a clip. So it's ultimately gonna be the same thing, except for I'm gonna use one of these clips. I'm just gonna gather the hair up, twist it, and Then secure it with the clip. And then from there, I'll just pull on it to make sure nothing is exposed. Pull out some bang pieces if you want, but you absolutely do not have to. You can always tuck these behind your ear. You can always put a headband on. And there you go. It's that easy. See, I'm still super secured because of my wig grip. And I'm not gonna have to worry about my wig while doing any of those water activities.
